I think one thing that could be helpful is childcare. I recently was visiting a friend that teaches at Marshall Co. High. My friend has a daughter that is enrolled in the pre- school program @ MCHS. This program has four big advantages that jumped out at me.

    1. The program utlizes students enrolled in a "child development class" which saves money.

    2. There are two- way mirrors set up so on his lunch break he can check on his daughter and see how she is interacting.

    3. Utlizing this could also work for PHY classes to observe child behavior.

    4. Student/ Parents could possibilly bring there kids and leave them for the time that they are in class, as opposed to trying to get a sitter for a couple of hours. This has been a big hurdle for some of my students over the years.

Just a thouhgt, what do you think?

I completely agree that the students can benefit from a child care program. Did we have this in the past? And if we did then why did it go away?

I'm not sure, I spoke to one of the members in student government and he said he's pushed for this, but can't get it to go through.

It would be a wonderful opportunity for all involved.
